What an amazing and exciting week of events! We were all shocked, then inspired to share our thoughts and to let our imaginations run wild following the mysterious appearance of a giant nest complete with two equally enormous eggs - just the thing to start the week! I am sure your children have shared the 'egg-traordinary' developments during the week, when first a large dollop of bird droppings decorated the Year 6 windows, and then, on Thursday, one of the eggs seemed to have hatched! weekend starts. |

The children (and staff!) have had a thoroughly enjoyable and intriguing week as a result of our mysterious egg laying visitors. Speculation and rumour have been rife, although the evidence speaks below for itself and we are just glad we were able to remain open and keep all of our children safe from the unusual (and probably very large) flying guest/s. A number of craftily creative projects have resulted, from diaries, newspaper reports, mathematical egg investigations and species fact files, to filmed news reports, egg-sperimental art and 'the daily online egg-blog.' Top bloggers were Year's 4 and 5, who greatly relished the opportunity to share their imaginative theories online collaboratively and see what everybody else thought. If you have not yet checked out the blog, see the ParentMail log in details sent on Wednesday. Some of the outcomes have been writing of a very high standard, and our pupils loved producing it! On Friday an actual motion sensed image was captured, which we can reveal below. All experts are so far baffled as to what this peculiar, compound creature could be. It certainly appears to be a new species. We are suggesting the name the 'Morganorus.' Perhaps you could encourage your child to blog their opinions and thoughts about this latest revelation over the weekend? Please do also note the date at the top of the newsletter before you make a trunk call to the Natural History Museum directly..! |
